Write with purpose
A Modal split must have a clear role. Whether introducing a feature, surfacing an action, or sharing an update, the content should justify demanding the userβs focus.
Define the goal of this interaction β what measurable outcome are we aiming for? Every word should serve that goal.

Prioritise the heading
The heading is the most important element of a Modal split. Users scan content quickly β often in under two seconds β so make it count.
A strong heading should stand alone as a clear statement of value. The rest of the content should support and elaborate, not compete.

Communicate value, avoid buzzwords
Write for real people, not marketing slides. Avoid jargon and vague business speak β terms like optimise or streamline donβt explain true value.
Focus on why the feature matters to them, not what sounds cool to us. Show empathy, address user needs, and make your message relevant. Speak plainly and directly to build trust and clarity.

Keep it concise
Avoid walls of text. Too much information makes content harder to read and causes users to skip important points.
Use short paragraphs, clear subheadings, and scannable lists to make the content easy to digest.
Keep everything to one screen if possible.

Support your message with visuals
A strong visual can communicate what words alone cannot. Use relevant product screenshots, diagrams, or simplified illustrations that enhance understanding and complement the copy.
Avoid decorative imagery that adds no value. When possible, request visuals early in the process so brand design and content work together effectively.
